This is the main area where you have to concern yourself with chair hogging or parties sitting in odd configurations (i.e., leaving a single seat open between them and the next group). Again, around the aft pool you'll find more lounge chairs and less people, making it a prime spot for hanging out in the sun. The Carnival Liberty cruises the sunny Caribbean year-round, so its outdoor areas can get very busy when the weather is good. A Carnival Liberty Interior Upper/Lower stateroom creatively maximizes space for a pair of cruisers. There is care available for infants (under age 2) on port days and sea days (at this same rate); on port days times vary according to port arrival, though on sea days care is available from 8 a.m. Children do not have to be potty trained in order to take part in Night Owls. Note that this child care service takes place at Camp Ocean and Carnival does not offer in-stateroom services of this type. The Carnival Liberty has all sorts of non-stop activities on our western Caribbean cruise, most of which you would expect on a large mega-ship. The swimming pool and deck areas were terrific, and the Carnival Liberty features one of the large, on-deck movie screens over the midship pool. It was much like being at a drive-in theater (without the cars and making out).
The Versailles Pool can be covered, but the roof is retracted in all but the worst weather. From the Venetian Palace Main Lounge to the outdoor movie screen to the comedy club to the karaoke bar, there's always something going on aboard Liberty. The big productions in the Venetian go on twice per night, but smaller games and gatherings keep the theater occupied at other times. On our cruise, we saw no opportunities to learn about the culture, history, food or art of the cities or islands we called on other than what was offered through shore excursions. When big production shows take the stage there are two shows nightly. The spa had all the usual massages and treatments, including a cruise-long "spa seminar" that featured classes on everything from weight loss to detoxification to teeth whitening. The gym had all the latest equipment (including spinning for a fee). Pilates and yoga classes also had a fee, but the rest of the classes and machines were included in the cruise fare.

You can’t go home from vacation looking like all you’ve done during your Carnival Liberty cruise is party (although, we won’t blame you if that’s what you indeed do). The cabins are roomy and balconies a lovely addition (even if they can feel a little cramped); there are plenty of places on deck to lounge and laze and sun yourself; the entertainment options seem limitless. Smoking in cabins/suites and on their balconies is prohibited. On Carnival Liberty, smoking allowed areas (cigarettes /incl electronic cigarettes) are 70’s Nightclub (disco /not allowed on the dance floor), Casino (designated areas), Casino Bar. Smoking (incl of cigars and tobacco pipes) is allowed on designated outdoor areas on Deck 3 portside (forward) and on Deck 11 portside. On Deck 11 there are limited seating areas primarily because you are getting higher on the ship and there's less space available. What space there is is taken up with the sports deck and jogging track, but there are areas where you can get comfortable and lounge a while.
